PRESS RELEASE
On Monday, September 25, 2006, after 8pm, the TITANIUM Yiayiannos Gallery will host the painting exhibition of Penny Manavi. TITANIUM presents the painter's first exhibition after graduating from the Athens School of Fine Arts (with professor Psychopaedis ), offering art lovers bouquets of colors, for the delight of our vision. A structured design base secures Manavi's colorful feasts on the canvas, which presents us with a personal view in agreement with the universal nature of the senses.
Large and small canvases, meeting points of lines and spots, recipients of expression in the passage of the brush and carriers of the noblest of materials, color, bear on them the forms of flowers, petals that spread indolently across the back of the canvas and hypnotize us.
The paintings, worthy places of focus for the gaze, were tenderly marked as if by muffled explosions. Manavi's oils and brushes, in the service of the idea that inspires her, create a painting with character. We notice few pauses, between the colors that spread out as if they were still in motion. Manavi's pauses are found on the surface painted from edge to edge, within the deceleration of the color itself.
The utilization of the entire color range is done with knowledge of harmony and despite the fact that the viewer receives an exuberant result, within it is contained an element of balance, a sense of slowing down the rapidity.
Thus, watching the sensual adventures that unfold on the canvas, the viewer experiences the oxymoronic shape of a calm explosion, the association of the underwater movement of rare seabed plants. Enjoy Penny Manavi's exhibition until October 9 at TITANIUM Yiayiannos Gallery.
