Solo exhibition by Greek artist Penny Manavi at the Espace Christiane Peugeot cultural center in Paris through the EVASIONS institution of DépôtArtGallery DépôtArtGallery, having as one of its primary goals the promotion of Greek artists and their work abroad, created the institution “Escapes - EVASIONS” and presents the solo exhibition by Greek artist Penny Manavi at the Espace Christiane Peugeot cultural center (62, Avenue de la Grande-Armée, 75017 Paris, France) from February 21 to March 4, 2018. The international group exhibition of 31 contemporary Greek and foreign artists, EVASION #1, is presented in parallel. The exhibitions open on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Artist Penny Manavi notes about her works: "My works are inspired by fertility, organic forms and the biodiversity of nature. In my paintings one finds images of insects, flowers, the underwater world, animals and reptiles.By studying the detail and focusing on my subjects, I discover a fantastic world. In my works, the joy of life and the dark side of death coexist. I am attracted to the strange color combinations and textures that I discover in nature and that I emphasize reflecting an optimistic approach. In my works there are elements of dynamic color expressionism and abstract expressionism with the use of gestural writing that adds movement and rhythm. My materials are oils and typographic ink on canvas.

"DépôtArtGallery created the institution "Escapes - EVASIONS" with the aim of promoting Greek artists and their work abroad, bringing them into contact and dialogue with foreign artists, which ensures the osmosis between the artistic trends that mark contemporary Art today under a global and borderless perspective. A practice that will ultimately allow all artists, regardless of nationality, to escape and communicate their work internationally, which is an imperative in the globalized era we live in.

This is an ambitious project, which will try to impose itself with the quality and originality of its proposals and combinations, both in the capitals and in the major artistic centers of Europe and beyond, arguing that Art has neither borders nor limits..."
